As parents, our number one priority is keeping our kids safe, especially with technology being all up in our faces. We also want to ensure that they do not take actions that will have negative consequences affecting their dreams later in the future.
I can’t help but emphasize that every parent should read this book that was written by parents with vast experience in cyber-security and the technology space. It addresses all the common issues that kids face especially with the dangers of technology.
One thing I love about this book is that it gets us into the world and minds of our kids by showing us the texting and social media acronyms that we should be concerned about. It is very obvious that the authors did a great job researching this topic as can be seen from the frightening statistics on pages children visit. It also provides tips on how to handle different situations and especially when giving your child a smartphone.
Are Your Kids Naked Online is very personalized and shares some personal experience that I’m sure a lot of parents can relate to. It also shows hacks/apps/tricks that children use these days to prevent ‘nosy’ parents from accessing.
The book also addresses mistakes that we as parents make especially if we are social media savvy and share a lot of our children’s pictures online and what we can do if we share a lot of personal information online.
I enjoyed reading this book. It was very detailed, very easy to read and understand. I would rate this book a 4 out 4 stars and would highly recommend that everyone read this especially if you have kids, nieces, nephews, and grand-kids.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher through the onlinebookclub.org book review program. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
